I see this in the build log for 4.0.4-4, which would indicate the
kernel problem.

checking if POSIX sigsuspend() works... no

The log for 4.0.4-3 indicates that it wasn't built, so I can't
see what happened there.  If there is a discrepancy, I would
think that rebuilding with a working kernel would solve the
problem.  If not, there is another issue.
