I never saw this specific "soft lockup", but instead soft lockups only for "get_console_sem" (or similiar).

I don't agree here with you.
The soft lockup aren't serious. 
You can easily disable this "debugging feature" (CONFIG_DEBUG_*), and I saw the soft lockups on bot 32 and 64bit kernels.
So, IMHO this isn't a real reason not to enable 64bit by default, but I agree, that it should be fixed nevertheless.
