I don't think so. I'm having the same problem on a C3k (latest firmware),
Debian/testing (updated daily) and the same error occurs for all
Linux-2.6-testX-paY I've ever tried (I never bothered even compiling 2.5).

Config is for PA8000, 32bit. I've 2 UltraWide 9GB HDDs, but no
Narrow SE SCSI devices (I also have external SCSI terminators attached
for both narrow and wide. I even exchanged the narrow SCSI terminator with
another one, because I thought it maybe a problem with the termination as
the kernel error message suggested - the result was the same).
