Log message:
This check incorporates some of the bug fixes jsm and I found
while improving the sba and ccio drivers.  I'm checking it in
now because I'll be gone for a week, and it is more stable then
the currently checked in code.

When I get back, I'll try to arrange some time with Grant and
John to discuss some different ideas and to stress test this
driver some more.
