Log message:
Check the DEBUG block comment for more info.  I've nearly reproduced
the RFI setup from other sources and have tested all I know how to
test and it still doesn't work :-(

Note HPUX has an rfi subroutine to centralize all the rfi mystery.
I think this is a good idea for Linux someday too.
